Hepatitis-C virus infection (HCV) is endemic in many countries of the world including Georgia. Georgia has a high burden HCV with an estimated 5.4% adult population (1,50,000) people have identified HCV.  According to NCDC (National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health from May 2015 national programme been launched, supported by American company “Gi lead” government Our main goal investigate manage hepatocellular carcinoma. study done patient at Infectious AIDS clinical immunology scientific research centre it found that 57-year-old male who was chronically infected HCV, cirrhosis, directly associated development He diagnosed as chronic hepatitis-C liver cirrhosis (genotype 3a).              Treatment pegylated interferon Ribavirin 1200 mg 6 months continued. Treatment finished without side effects but after RNA detectable or relapsed. In 2015, switched elimination antiviral treatment combined 12 weeks. Sustained viral response developed termination therapy. The alpha-fetoprotein important tumour marker elevated around 583 µ/l. Ultrasound didn’t reveal any lesion MRI scan 3rd grade carcinoma confirmed. Following every month assessed function tests, total bilirubin, complete blood count, ultrasound investigation result enzyme be elevated. It’s crucial (end stage disease) undergo investigations, test further follow up.

LIVER Association of Helicobacter species with hepatitis C cirrhosis with or without hepatocellular carcinoma

Background and aims: Recent studies have suggested that bacterial coinfection with Helicobacter species in patients already infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) could be involved in the development of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A retrospective cross sectional study was performed in order to explore the association between Helicobacter species and HCV associated liver disease...

Hepatitis B virus, hepatocellular carcinoma and liver cirrhosis in Kenya.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is the third most common malignancy in Kenyan males occurring with a peak incidence at 40 years of age. A worldwide correlation has been noted between the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma and prevalence of hepatitis B virus. Liver biopsies with histological diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cirrhosis and the normals were reviewed by the authors. They wer...

Hepatitis C virus, alcoholic cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.

We undertook a retrospective study to determine the prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in 81 Caucasian patients with confirmed hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Besides HBV and HCV serological markers, HCV RNA and HBV DNA were detected in serum and liver tissue by polymerase chain reaction. Overall, HCV RNA was found in 20 cases (25%), HBV DNA in 21 patien...

The Expression of Embryonic Liver Development Genes in Hepatitis C Induced Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a difficult disease to study even after a decade of genomic analysis. Patient and disease heterogeneity, differences in statistical methods and multiple testing issues have resulted in a fragmented understanding of the molecular basis of tumor biology. Some researchers have suggested that HCC appears to share pathways with embryonic development. Therefore ...
